Description   Introducing the 1172 Audio Interface for integrating the AVAtrix with any brand whole house audio system. The 1172 provides an audio breakout point to connect an independent audio distribution system of any brand that accepts stereo analog audio or digital audio. The Model 1172 Audio Interface is a companion product to the AVAtrix™ HD Home Theater Routing System and related 1100 Series configurations including one or more Model 1176 Matrix Routers. It provides six analog and/or digital audio source outputs to a whole-house audio system to enable coordination of a room’s audio program with the video program being received on a Cat 5 receiver Wallplate (Model 9878). Model 1172’s audio outputs, taken from audio/video sources resident on the AVAtrix, thus complement the audio-only sources directly connected to the audio distribution system. The Model 1172 supports two modes of operation: Source Mode and Tracking Mode. Source Mode simply supplies audio streams from the six A/V sources residing on the AVAtrix to a whole-house audio distribution system. In this mode, it is the audio distribution system that selects which audio stream is to be sent to the room and also controls the A/V sources resident on the AVAtrix. In whole-house audio systems where the audio for each room is provided by an amp or receiver dedicated to that room, set the 1172 for Tracking Mode. Each corresponding output port of the 1172 and 1176 is assigned to a room or zone. For example, Output 1 of the 1176 goes to a Wallplate in Room 1, while Output 1 of the 1172 goes to an input of the amplifier assigned to Room 1.
