Component Video and Audio Switching with IR Remote

The 1154B is the evolution of the legendary 1154A, bringing performance enhancements and new features. The 1154B retains the convenience of AutoSelect(tm) -- a method of automatically switching component sources -- but adds IR remote control, discrete input selection, and an all new design.

The Design

An all metal casing encloses totally redesigned electronics. The 1154B features increased bandwidth over its predecessor, a streamlined jack arrangement, and easy toggling between AutoSelect and manual select modes. A new touch-sensitive keypad allows easy source switching and the elimination of mechanical buttons. The 1154B's satin finish aluminum faceplate and sleek design replaces the 1154A's plastic case, an update that makes the Autoselector look as good as it performs. Padded feet prevent damage to other AV Components or furniture.

Performance

The 1154B boasts increased bandwidth over the previous model, and is easily able to handle component video signals from 480i up to 1080p with no degradation. Digital optical and digital coaxial audio signals are automatically cross-converted internally, removing the need for outboard converters. Analog audio pathways preserve the full integrity of the original signal for optimum performance of your audio system. (See rear view and feature list.)

Discrete input selection commands make the 1154B simple to control using universal remote control macros. A "credit card" type remote is included with the switcher. Gold-plated input/output jacks provide maximum signal integrity. Red and green LEDs show the currently selected source, and the presence of audio signals on active inputs. All inputs are AC coupled to prevent DC offset and other compatibility problems with certain cable and satellite set-top boxes.

Custom installers and system integrators will love the 1154B's discrete input selection for systems using IR remote systems and macros. Multi-color front panel LEDs indicate source availability and the source that is currently selected. The ultra high bandwidth circuitry accepts Y Pb Pr component video, stereo analog audio, and digital audio in both optical and coaxial formats, and switches all audio and video signals simultaneously. Digital audio signals are converted automatically to the desired format. Up to four sources may be connected to one receiver/video display system through the 1154B.
